The same ten questions, a million different answers.
Where do you find peace?
Fort Tilden Beach, among the sand dunes. Here in my apartment, surrounded by my little plants. Prospect Park is actually my number one.
Is there a piece of art you can’t stop thinking about?
I watched “Titane” last night, and I’m disturbed and moved.
What’s the last exhibition you went to see?
Blue Hawaii at Public Records.
What’s the best meal you’ve eaten recently?
I'm a little bit obsessed with trying to get protein into my diet because I'm a vegetarian, so I be eatin’ beans every day. I get a CSA box from Farm to People, and I make a taco salad with black beans, corn off the cob, and tomato. It's so good. That's my current obsessive meal that I literally eat every single day.
What’s your favorite thing to wear right now?
I just recently got a sweat skirt from GU, and I'm truly obsessed with it. I'm going to get it in every color. I only want to wear sweat skirts.
Which unread book on your shelf haunts you the most?
Many. I love to read nonfiction, so I will get a nonfiction book and I'll just right away get through it. But pretty much every piece of fiction in my house, I'll read a chapter and then I can't do it and I don't know why.
What’s your beauty secret?
I double cleanse every single night, then I use toner. I pretty much don't put any serums or anything on my skin, and my skin has never been better. Also, SPF every single day. Every single day—strong, good Korean skincare every single day. And on the backs of your hands, especially if you're like me and you're out in the sun all the time, because they be gettin’ wrinkly. We can't have that. I don't want to give my age away because my hands look old.
What’s your favorite scent?
I'm really into those tomato leaf scented candles. It smells like working in the garden and I love it.
What’s your dream vacation?
I want to someday take a cycling trip around Europe, or somewhere that I can just do a few hundred miles and stay in different towns and get to experience everything without skipping anything in between.
What’s love got to do with it?
Love has everything to do with it. Love is it.
